I liked that you mentioned about repeating yourself, nothing gets you unfollowed faster than posting the same like 24 times a day. I've seen a few that do that.

This is a great list for anyone in the Twitterverse, not just the newcomers. I'm definitely going to be sharing this post with quite a few people I know.

Makes sense! :-)

I also don't understand how can a person follow hundreds and hundreds of friends (and non friends!!) on twitter. I only have 20 friends on twitter, but still it's hard to keep up with the amounts of tweets being sent.

I think lots of people exagerate and use Twitter ONLY for marketing!

[...] I wanted to show some researchers how Twitter can be useful to an MP and the best way to do that was to look at some MPs twitter accounts. We looked at what John Prescott MP and Kerry McCarthy MP have been doing in Twitter. I did not delve into Twitter functionality much nor did I deal with the question ‘Should Twitter be used in politics?’, not least because I think most people realise new media is here to stay. On reflection (thanks to audience for feedback) I could have started more slowly, perhaps with some basic rules for using twitter. [...]
