Twitter search is very limited. Most of my searches only go back a week or 8 days at the most. Even when I search specifically for topics I wrote about last month, they don't show up in search. So, as far as I'm concerned Twitter search is only useful for real-time searching and live Tweeting.

Twitter (Official) Search is by far the best one that enables real time & most updated results (of course). However, some 3rd party search tools if combine with Twitter Search could make a difference your Twitter Search experience. I must say, I had some hard time finding the best one to use at first since they just keep coming. Spent some times creating a Twitter-Search Mind-Map and finally got a clearer picture. phew.. It's amazing isn't it, how a little tool like this could make such an impact in social networking.
