Even tho’ there’s yet to be a single video sharing site for Twitter that has managed to attract the same number of users as TwitPic, these sites are clearly gaining in popularity. Hopefully we will get Twitter video sharing services integrated in our favorite desktop clients soon. I’ll give you a quick list of 7 best ways to tweet video. Some of these even support photo and video sharing, allow webcam recordings, and track video mentions across Twitter.

TwitVid.io is really simple to use. Log in with your Twitter credentials, choose a video file and post. Works pretty much the same as TwitPic.

Twiddeo is a powerful but simple service that let’s you do one thing very well: Twitter updates with Video. Upload from the web, your cameraphone and record from your webcam.

TwitC is a great tool for sharing photos, videos, and a myriad of different file types with Twitter, it’s a multipurpose hosting service for Twitter.

TwitLENS is another tool that handles both video and photo sharing. What I like about it is that it supports Twitter OAuth for secure login.

TweeTube allows you to share webcam videos, YouTube videos, photos and website URLs. The site looks neat.

12seconds helps you update your friends and family with short video clips that you record with your webcam, mobile phone, or upload. It uses Twitter OAuth for secure login too.

TwitVid.com is almost the same as TwitVid.io.

Do we need this many video options for Twitter? Well, probably not, but the competition is always good. Which one do you prefer?

Searching for keywords and hashtags on Twitter will not be good enough for you. You will want to search for website links as well. But since pretty much everyone on Twitter uses an URL shortening service, Twitter’s search will not return good results. Don’t get me wrong, Twitter’s search is great, but it has a few shortcomings. One of them is that it can’t catch those tweets that have linked to a website or blog, because the URL have been shortened. This is where BackTweets comes into play.

With BackTweets you can search for links on Twitter. You simply enter the URL you want to search for and it will automatically resolve shortened URLs and return a chronological list of tweets with the requested link.

In addition, BackTweets provides an RSS feed so that you can be notified automatically as new relevant tweets appear.

With this tool I am able to find many tweets that I was unable to find with Twitter search. BackTweets has become one of the Twitter tools that I use on a regular basis. And if you need to stay on top of what’s being said on Twitter, you should take a closer look at it too.

Whether this is good or bad is up to you to decide. But because of that, a large number of third-party services have been developed to fill that need. I made a list of the 7 most popular photo sharing services for Twitter. I will sort the list alphabetically.

Picktor is a social picture management service & community that enables users to manage their photos, share their photos, and interact with multiple online communities. Did I mention it is very simple to use? And it uses Twitter’s oAuth implementation, so you can be sure your Twitter login details are safe.

Pikchur is a multi-platform simple service that updates your social networks / micro-blogging platforms with pictures. Sign up is optional, you can just login with one of their many supported platforms and start sending your pictures right away.

Pixim is another simple tool for sharing photos on Twitter. Simply login via Twitter and post photos.

TweetPhoto offers a number of advanced options, such as stats, geo-tagging, favoriting and many more. I wrote more about it in my previous post. Here as well you login with your Twitter account.

Twitgoo is another simple photo sharing tool. When you login (with your Twitter login), it looks much like Twitter web interface, except that you can attach photos to your tweets.

TwitPic is currently the largest and most popular image sharing service for Twitter. Due to its popularity, there are also popular twitter clients that have built-in support for TwitPic. Do I have to mention you can use it with your Twitter login and password?

yfrog comes from the guys behind ImageShack and you can bet it is very simple to use. Upload, log in (yes, with your Twitter account), share and that’s it. Simple and fast.

There are more photo sharing services for Twitter out there, if there’s one that should be on this list feel free to leave a comment. Which is your favorite?

It’s a new free photo sharing service for Twitter called TweetPhoto. And it will, as they say, significantly improve photo sharing experience on Twitter.

Similar to TwitPic, TweetPhoto users can easily upload photos and TweetPhoto will automatically publish those photos and turn them into tweets on Twitter. You use your Twitter name and password to use the site. It also supports uploads by email or mobile, and comments, but that’s where the similarities with TwitPic end.

With TweetPhoto you can:

Upload photos via mobile phone and the web to TweetPhoto

Share through Twitter and Facebook

Favorite the photos you like

See who views your photos; favorites your photos, comments on your photos

Track how many people looked at a photo

Automatically geo-tag photos sent from a GPS enabled phone

Use an integrated URL shortening service, http://pic.gd

Filter photos by Twitter or Facebook friends

Self-moderate comments

Search tagged photos throughout the site

Subscribe to RSS feeds by user or tags

TweetPhoto is changing the way photos are accessed and shared by Twitter users. TweetPhoto improves the photo consumption experience by extending the life of photos beyond the tweet. This empowers users to view photos shared by the people they follow on Twitter so they never miss a photo again.

What I really like about TweetPhoto, is that all of these features are easily accessible and discoverable from your dashboard view of photos hosted on the site. Tabs across the top navigation make it easy to view your photos, return to favorites, browse friends’ photos, and check out the public stream.

After checking it out, I must say I like TweetPhoto more than TwitPic and will use it as a primary app for sharing photos on Twitter. What do you think about TweetPhoto? Will you use it?

Most common way is by asking your followers or using a Twitter search. You can ask a question on Twitter and get answers via replies or direct messages. But sometimes we just want more than that, we want to analyze the answers and visualize them in a graph. And if you get several tens or hundreds of them, it gets a bit hard to keep track of everything.

To make things easier for you, there are a few great tools to create Twitter polls. All of these services are super easy to use. All you need to do is fill out the form with your question and answers and post to Twitter.

TwtPoll

PollDaddy

StrawPoll

Is there any other Twitter polling tool that you prefer over any of these?

Once you have hundreds or thousands of followers, it becomes difficult to manage them all. It’s a fact that your success ratio and influence power is directly proportional to how active your followers are. Twitter does not offer enough on their website to effectively manage your followers. Site analytics and subscriber counters can give a good idea of how many people are reading your content, but there are more Twitter tools to help you manage and analyze followers. Here are some interesting web based applications that I found to be of great help. I will not go deep into detail for each of these tools, because they are extremely easy to use.

Twitter Analyzer

Twitter Analyzer is very advanced Twitter analytic system. Unlike many other Twitter tools, Twitter Analyzer does not require you to enter you Twitter password. You simply type in the @name of who you’d like to analyze and it will show you really many statistics about that user and his followers.
It can show you who are your closest friends on Twitter by showing you who retweets your messages. You can see who is writing about you, how popular are you and your friends, map locations of your friends and much more. All that in very nice and easy to read graphs. I could keep going on, but take a look for yourself.

Tweet Stats

TweetStats is another great tool to analyze Twitterers. Similar to Twitter Analyzer, but with fewer options. Type the Twitter ID that you would like to analyze and TweetStats will then automatically generate a detailed report about the tweeting style and trend of the user.

It will show you tweeting density of a user, so you can see at what time of the day they tweet the most, as well as number of tweets in a particular month, day, or week. You can as well see what interface (web, TweetDeck, etc) they use the most for tweeting.

Manage your friends and followers with tags

With Twittangle you can rate and tag your friends and filter them on a timeline. You can also create custom groups of your followers and filter your timeline by that group. It’s quite an effective tool.

Friend or Follow?

Who are you following that’s not following you back? Who’s following you that you’re not following back? Find out on FriendOrFollow. All you need to do here is enter your Twitter name and it will show you the results. Too bad it only shows you stats, so you will have to manually follow or unfollow those people.

What is your Twitter Karma?

Twitter Karma is one of my favorite tools to manage followers. It shows you who does not follow you back, who are those that only follow you and you don’t follow them and more. With just a few clicks you can mark those you don’t want to follow anymore and it will automatically unfollow them. Additionally, you can mark those that you want to follow and it will follow them all at once. You can mass follow, unfollow, delete and block people with Twitter Karma, which would take you ages to do on Twitter itself.

Tweepler

Tweepler displays a list of new followers of your Twitter account. Click on the left arrow to follow them back or the right arrow to ignore them. Ignore only archives them out of the way and only acts for organizational purposes. Do not confuse this ignore with Twitter’s block functionality, it is not the same.

Optionally click the More Details link. This will show you detailed information like average tweets, total tweets, number of followers, number following and the followers to following ratio.

Tools to identify and unfollow inactive accounts

Over time many of your followers have probably become inactive for various reasons. If you follow back most people that follow you, then you will eventually get some inactive followers. There’s no point following dead accounts that give no value. With these tools you can find inactive accounts and unfollow them with ease.

Here are a few web based Twitter tools that will automatically unfollow inactive accounts: Huitter, MyCleenr and UnTweeps.

Twittoria is another tool that will identify inactive accounts, but will not automatically unfollow them. You will have to do that manually.

Learn more about your followers

With TwitterSheep you can see what types of people are following you and your tweets.
