Twitter is such an awesome tool. I have met many new people on Twitter and it’s great for making new relationships. It helps me promote my personal brand and drives a fair amount of quality traffic to my blogs. I had no idea how good it could possibly be, until I actually tried it.

My name is Marko and my personal blog is called HeGeeks. It’s kind of a geekish blog, just like me. You can follow me on Twitter, my account is @markotu. I follow almost everyone back, unless it’s obvious that it is a bot or scam.

If you’re new to Twitter let me explain you what it is. A very short explanation would be the following. Twitter is a microblogging service where you share what you’re doing with the world in 140 characters or less.

I heard about Twitter nearly 2 years ago and I thought it is just another social media site that will not succeed. Writing a 140 characters messages? I didn’t see any point in it. Man, I was so wrong.

In January 2009, almost 2 years later, I decided to try it and to see why it became so popular. So, I started tweeting. It was a changing moment in my life. The amount of value that you get from Twitter is amazing. I can only wish I had joined Twitter earlier.

On Twitter Tips blog I will be writing about what I have learned about Twitter. I’ll try to cover all kinds of tips regarding Twitter. I also encourage you to write a guest post about any Twitter tips you want to share with fellow Twitter users. It’s a great way to promote yourself and your blog.
